Transcend is a Kenya travel desk. We help you reach the mountain, line up climbing arrangements where we can genuinely support them, and fold the expedition into a safari or coast stay — without pretending Kilimanjaro is a Kenyan park.
Guests usually start with us because they are already booking a Kenya safari, an Amboseli stay, or a coast week. We then help with the pieces we can deliver: Nairobi or Amboseli transfers, timing around flights, and climbing arrangements through partners who operate on the Tanzanian side.
We do not own Kilimanjaro routes, huts or operator licences. If a piece of the climb sits outside what we can support, we will say so instead of stretching the brochure language.

The hut route. Some guests prefer beds to tents. It is not automatically “easier”; altitude is still the problem.
Rongai and other lines exist. We discuss them only after we know your dates and hiking background. This is not a technical mountaineering page and not a summit-guarantee shop.
Fit hikers who can walk long days with a day-pack, and who accept that Uhuru Peak is optional until the mountain agrees. It does not suit anyone who wants a Kenyan day hike — that is Mount Kenya or the Rift Valley trails.
Most supported climbs take the better part of a week on the mountain, plus travel days each side. You will need valid entry for Tanzania as well as your Kenya plans. Our visa hub covers several countries; Tanzania paperwork is confirmed case by case, not as a published product on that hub.
Broken-in boots, layered insulation, waterproof shell, trekking poles if you already use them, and a clinician’s advice on altitude. Porters carry the bulk bag on supported climbs; you still walk every metre of height. We will send a practical list once the route and operator are agreed — not a merchandised pack for sale on this site.
No. The mountain is in Tanzania. Kenya’s Amboseli park looks toward it. A climb is a cross-border trip.
