Mombasa is Kenya’s main coastal city: island old town, mainland hotel strips at Nyali and Bamburi, an international airport, and the Likoni crossing toward the south coast. A Mombasa holiday can be a business night, a family beach hotel, or two days of history before you continue to Diani.
Transcend plans the rooms, airport car and any guided Old Town time. We do not run Fort Jesus, the ferry or the port. The city is lively, humid and sometimes chaotic — that is part of why people stay here instead of only on a quiet resort beach.

One night is a gateway. Two or three nights let you do Old Town without rushing. Private airport pickup is the default — see transfers. The ferry to the south coast has its own queues; we plan around them rather than promising a clock time.
Island hotels put you near Old Town. Mainland beach hotels put you nearer the swimming. We request rooms; we do not operate them. Quotes beat any rate you find on a screenshot.
Light cotton, modest clothes for Old Town and mosques, and a lockable bag in busy streets. The city is hotter and stickier than Nairobi. Keep valuables simple. If you continue to Diani, pack so the ferry or transfer is one soft bag, not a safari trunk.
Stay in Mombasa if you want Fort Jesus, a late flight or a city beach. Go to Diani if the long southern sand is the whole point and you arrive in daylight.
